14-16 October 2015, Tulln, Austria

The Bioresources Unit of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH organized training school on microarray technologies from October 14th to 16th in Tulln, Austria. In total, 17 trainees from 11 different countries, mostly PhD students and junior researchers participated.

Three major topics were presented:
  • DNA-based microbial detection microarrays (T Kostić and E.T. Gensberger, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH)
  • Gene expression microarrays (K. Rantsiou and A. Greppi, University of Turin, Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Sciences)
  • Protein-based microarrays (C. Preininger and S. Doppler, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH)
Each topic was covered with theoretical lecture and practical experiment providing trainees with an opportunity to acquire hands-on training on different microarray technologies relevant for food safety applications.
